Responsibilities
Emily Brownell is assistant professor at the University of Northern Colorado. Her research focuses on urban Africa and environmental history. Currently, she is working on a book project concerned with the environmental history of urban crisis in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Her work connects changes in the landscape of the expanding city with emerging political debates surrounding the city’s failure to provide environmental services, such as waste disposal.
