In December 2017, Edge Effects magazine started its first ever photo contest with the theme: "Working at the Edge." Jonas Stuck's winning photo "The Lookout" shows a former coastguard watch station at the edge of the cliffs on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. The hut was once manned around the clock, but radio communication meant that the building was no longer required. It is now used for whale watching and functions as a simple shelter for hikers. This hut is part of a larger system of huts in Scotland, also knows as mountain bothies, that are open for public use and show the changing space for interactions between people and the environment. The photo was later published in the blog entry "From Herders to Hikers, the Shifting Lives of Scottish Bothies" with Edge Effects: https://edgeeffects.net/bothy/
